At Carna Transport we specialise in the movement of goods to and from Ireland, the UK and Europe. We are dedicated to providing a ‘best in class’ service across our wide and expanding customer base. Founded by Barry Hughes in 1973, the company has experienced significant growth and today operates a fleet of 160 vehicles with 200 staff. Our 380+ fleet of trailers allows us the flexibility to deliver a 360° solution for our customers, every hour of every day.
Our continuous investment in people and technology has also given us a footprint in increasingly diverse sectors. It’s for that reason that we are carrier of choice for some of the world’s leading blue chip manufacturers.
Providing our clients with peace of mind is of paramount importance to us all at Carna Transport. As a result, we continue to invest in delivering state of the art security whilst our customer’s goods are in our care. This includes all trailers being housed in secure parking whilst off the road.
Our investment in all of the above areas has also been recognised by the industry and resulted in Carna Transport being named International Haulier of the Year 2019.
OUR SERVICES
At Carna Transport, we pride ourselves on always delivering market leading client service by an experienced team.
With an average of 20 years service amongst our wider office based team, we believe this level of experience is what separates us from our competitive set and helps drive our unique market offering.
All Carna Transport trailers are provided with Mul-T-Locks and are sealed and locked at loading point before departure.
We also provide a 24 hour, 7 days a week service to our customer base. Whilst this brings its own challenges, it’s embedded into our DNA and helps underpin our market position of –

That's why we continue to invest in market leading technology, fuelled by robust data systems.
Did you know?
GPS web based tracking is installed in every Carna vehicle - that allows us to view the location of our fleet in real-time, 24 hours a day from anywhere.
Our customers are able to view the vehicles carrying out their journey and can receive automatic updates on arrival at delivery.
Route replay allows us to investigate all trips in detail after they have occurred, thus allowing us to optimise routing and dispatching for more efficient fuel consumption.
Across our temperature controlled units, we've partnered with R:Com to provide us with live updates of refrigeration unit settings, operating mode, equipment alarm codes, fuel level and cargo temperatures.
